Ejemplos de Proper Nouns Y Common Nouns

Los Proper Nouns son aquellos que se utilizan para nombrar entidades específicas como: Patricia, Madrid, Argentina, Museo Nacional de Arte, Central Park, etc.
Los Common Nouns son aquellos que hacen referencia a términos generales y categorías no específicas, es decir, cuando utilizamos el término “Estados” o “Estado” sin utilizar el nombre propio estamos hablando de un common noun.
Por ejemplo:
The city of New York is cosmpolita.
En este ejemplo estamos utilizando el proper noun New York.
The city is cosmpolita
En este ejemplo el noun city al no contar con un nombre propio, es un common noun.
